Bilateral Cooperation

The bilaterial scientific and technical cooperation between Israel and Germany is focused on natural sciences and applied technological research and sponsored primarily by two collaborative programs.

The cooperation between the Federal Ministry of Education and Research (BMBF) in Germany and the Ministry of Science and Technology (MOST) in Israel was launched in 1973 to fund projects between academic partners.

To augment collaborative research activities by intensifying cooperation in the industrial research fields and by bringing German and Israeli technology firms into contact with one another, the BMBF and the Office of the Chief Scientist (OCS) of  the Ministry of Industry, Trade and Labour (MOITAL) signed in 2000 agreed minutes on coordinating and supporting the cooperation between industrial partners.
