Laser & Optics Technologies
German-Israeli cooperation under the BMBF's LASER 2000 program started in 2000 in order to promote and develop the technical areas within the BMBF-MOST cooperation. The program focused on laying the groundwork for new generations of lasers and opening up new fields of application for lasers with a call in the field of ultrafast laser technologies (femtosecond technology). Since the beginning of 2004, there has been a another cooperation model aiming at the enhanced incorporation of industry. The BMBF provides the possibility of implementing projects with Israel under industrial leadership (preferentially 2+2 projects with research institutions or universities as subcontractors) outside calls for proposals within the scope of available budget funds. Each industrial partner must ensure financing in its own country. On the German side, the BMBF funds these projects with up to 50 % of the total costs; on the Israeli side, the applicants are also supported by OCS/MOITAL with up to 50 % of the total costs.Call for Proposals
Open call for German-Israeli 2+2 projects under industrial leadership within the scope of BMBF's Optical Technologies program. One evaluation round per year is planned. The next submission date is 15th May 2008.
