Neuroscience

The cooperation in neuroscience was started in 1998 and replaced the cooperation area cardio-vascular diseases running very successfully between 1976 and 1998. The funds for the German and Israeli project partners are raised by the Bundesministerium für Bildung und Forschung (BMBF). For the cooperation period 1998 to 2004 funding amounted to about 4.5 mill. €. The current phase runs from 2005 to 2008 and is funded with 1.5 mill. €.

Since 2003 additional funds of about 170.000 € have been allocated by both BMBF and MOST for young scientists from both countries for travels to the annual meetings of the national Neuroscience societies in Göttingen and Eilat, respectively.
