Renewable Energy

The bilateral collaboration on renewable energy research between the German Ministry of Education and Research (BMBF) and the Ministry of Science, Technology and Space (MOST) began in 1998. In 2003, the German side’s responsibility was taken over by the Federal Ministry of Environment, Nature Conservation, Building and Nuclear Safety (BMU). Collaboration on energy research between the BMBF and MOST goes back to 1974 and lasted until 1998.

In 2005, BMU and MOST agreed to collaborate on renewable energy, which comprises the priorities solar energy, wind energy, geothermics, and hydro-electricity.
