Germany and Israel both have highly developed and differentiated research landscapes. Here is an initial overview of the different research systems in both countries.

Germany

Germany enjoys an excellent reputation worldwide as a research and innovation country. The ‘Future Strategy for Research and Innovation’ aims to both strengthen its innovative power and secure Europe’s technological sovereignty. Germany has set itself the goal of investing 3.5% of its gross domestic product in research and development by 2025.

Israel

Israel is a small country with few natural resources. Early on, its founding fathers, most notably Chaim Weizmann, the country’s first president, discovered human intelligence and science as key factors for Israel’s successful development. Today, Israel is one of the most innovative countries in the world and has an excellent reputation as a leading high-tech and start-up nation.
