The annual ‘Falling Walls Labs’ take place worldwide and give young scientists the opportunity to present their innovations and compete for a ticket to the Falling Walls Science Summit in Berlin. Applications for the lab in Tel Aviv are open until 20 May 2024.

The Falling Walls Foundation is a non-profit institution in Berlin that organises the international scientific conference Falling Walls Science Summit every November. The name is inspired by the fall of the Berlin Wall and the central question of the science summit is ‘Which are the next walls to fall in science and society?’. The format offers science a stage for exchange with politics, business, media and society.

The Falling Walls Science Summit has also developed into a recognised platform for promoting young international scientists. The event is funded by the German Federal Ministry of Education and Research (BMBF) and supported by a number of scientific institutions and foundations.

Falling Walls Lab is a pitch competition and networking forum that brings together students and early-career professionals by providing a stage for breakthrough ideas. Every year from March to October, renowned academic institutions around the world host local Falling Walls Labs to showcase their innovative capabilities.
