The German-Israeli Frontiers of Humanities Symposia (GISFOH) are a series of interdisciplinary conferences co-organised by the Israel Academy of Sciences and Humanities and the Alexander von Humboldt Foundation. Funding on the German side is provided by the Federal Ministry of Research, Technology and Space (BMFTR).
The symposium brings together approimately 50 outstanding young researchers of various disciplines in the humanities from both countries. They exchange ideas across disciplinary and methodological boundaries, build cross-disciplinary networks, and take the opportunity to work on future international collaborations.
The Alexander von Humboldt Foundation supports collaboration between the GISFOH participants with its dedicated follow-up programme CONNECT which grants residence allowances for working visits in the partner country for up to 30 days.
