German-Israeli Immunology Workshop

Germany and Israel have a longstanding fruitful history of scientific mutual exchange. To further boost these efforts, with emphasis on Immunology, the Weizmann Institute of Science plans to inaugurate a joint workshop series of the German Society for Immunology (DGfI) with the Israeli Society for Immunology (IIS).

The 1st German-Israeli Immunology Workshop (GIIW) will take place on Weizmann campus. The workshop will be organised by Professor Ari Waisman (Mainz University; representing the DGfI), Professor Amiram Ariel (University of Haifa; representing the IIS) and Professor Steffen Jung (as local Weizmann host).

The workshop is planned to cover a broad spectrum of cutting-edge topics in modern immunological research including the role of immune cells in tissue regeneration, the defense against infections and cancer immunotherapy. The workshop will host German and Israeli speakers with the aim to provide a lively platform for scientific exchange, personal interactions, and the exploration of potential for collaborations between German and Israeli Immunologist
