Federal Research Minister travels to Israel for AI conference

Federal Research Minister Bettina Stark-Watzinger will travel to Israel from 26 to 28 June 2024. According to a spokesperson for the German Minstry of Education and Research (BMBF), Stark-Watzinger will be taking part in the AI Week at Tel Aviv University.

The international conference brings together experts in the field of artificial intelligence to present applications of intelligent systems and discuss related technological opportunities, projects and challenges.

At the conference, the Minister will present the AI Action Plan of the Federal Ministry of Education and Research. A meeting with the Israeli Minister for Innovation, Science and Technology, Gila Gamliel, is planned on the fringes of the event. In addition, an exchange with participants of the German Studies Conference, which will take place at the same time, is planned.

Also on the schedule is a discussion with young Israeli and German researchers who participate in Helmholtz Association projects.
