As high-tech locations, both Israel and Germany have recognised the enormous technological potential of quantum technologies and have initiated numerous corresponding activities and funding measures in recent years.

The Quantum Future Academy is a central element of the Quantum Future programme, with which the German Federal Ministry of Education and Research (BMBF) addresses and supports young talents from the field of quantum technologies. The academy for young researchers has been held with changing international partners since 2019.

In this context, the BMBF and the Ministry of Science and Technology (MOST) jointly organised the German-Israeli Quantum Future Academy 2023 for students of STEM subjects. The holiday school with 30 participants (15 each from Germany and Israel) took place in Israel from 19-26 February 2023. The part in Germany followed from 3-10 September 2023.
