In a post on LinkedIn, the Federal Ministry of Research, Technology and Space opposes any form of boycott against Israel and emphasises its support for Israel should the country wish to be associated with the 10th EU Framework Programme for Research and Innovation (2028 to 2034). The Ministry writes:
“🤝Germany opposes any form of boycott against 🇮🇱! We will continue to speak out against the exclusion of Israeli scientists in the future. For Israel is one of our most important partners in research, innovation and space. Federal Research Minister Dorothee Bär underlined this in her talks with Foreign Minister Gideon Sa’ar and Ambassador Ron Prosor.
🎉This is particularly true in 2026, as we celebrate: –
- 40 years of the German Israeli Foundation for Scientific Research & Development (GIF)
- 50 years of cooperation between the DKFZ German Cancer Research Center and the Ministry of Innovation, Science and Technology IL | משרד החדשנות, המדע והטכנולוגיה)
- and, overall, a successful collaboration within the current 9th EU Framework Programme for Research and Innovation.
🔜And if Israel wishes to become an associated country in the 10th EU Framework Programme for Research and Innovation, Horizon Europe 2028–2034, then we are delighted about that ☺️ and will support it wherever possible!”
