The Minerva Center for Biological Mechanisms of Healthy Aging and the Minerva Center on Intersectionality in Aging have each been extended for an additional six years following a successful evaluation. As a result, both Minerva Centers will be able to collaborate with their partners through 2031.
The Minerva Center for Biological Mechanisms of Healthy Aging has been in operation since 2019 in cooperation with Bar-Ilan University in Ramat Gan and the CECAD Cluster of Excellence in Cologne.
At the end of February, during the evaluation—which took place virtually due to the current situation—external experts issued a clear recommendation to extend the successful Minerva Center.
The evaluation was preceded by a 30-page report highlighting how dynamic and successful the collaboration between the two institutions has been to date, particularly in the area of working with early-career researchers.
As early as the end of last year, another Minerva Ageing Center received an extension: the Minerva Center on Intersectionality in Aging. The center has been operating in cooperation with the University of Haifa since 2019.
For both centers, the successful extension means continued funding from the Minerva Foundation in the amount of 75,000 euros per year, in addition to funding from both partners. Joint workshops, seminars, and academic exchanges can be organized through the Minerva Centers.
