Germany and Israel: 60 years of diplomatic relations celebrated with new logo
Against the backdrop of a dark past, the fact that Israel and Germany have been maintaining diplomatic relations for 60 years now is a true miracle. On this occasion, the two foreign ministers launched a competition to design a joint logo to symbolise the special relationship. The winning design was created by Uri Mor.

German-Israeli Alliance Symposium
Boycott movements against researchers from Israel are steadily growing worldwide. To counter this, members of the Alliance of German Science Organisations, under the auspices of the Helmholtz Association and the Max Planck Society, organised a German-Israeli symposium at the Harnack House in Berlin from 15 to 17 December 2024.

BMBF provides a further 12 Million Euros for Antisemitism Research
Since 2021, the Federal Ministry of Education and Research (BMBF) has been funding anti-Semitism research projects with 12 million euros. This commitment will now be continued at the same level in a further funding phase. The corresponding funding guideline, for which projects can now apply, was published on 16 December 2024.

Max Planck Society opens office in Jerusalem
The Max Planck Society’s new office in Jerusalem already began its operations on 1 September 2024. The office aims to serve as a crucial hub for maintaining and expanding connections between the Max Planck Society (MPG) and Israeli researchers, particularly in the context of the current crises.

Educational work in vocational schools after October 7, 2023
In a workshop on 10 October 2024 at the Federal Institute for Vocational Education and Training (BIBB), vocational school teachers were provided with practical approaches for addressing and raising awareness of the events of October 7 in Israel.
